Thanks for Tessa's piece; she is one of my favorite writers and her essays always leave me feeling thoughtful, refreshed, and more committed to my work. You curate an excellent reading list, but there simply is not enough time to dip into all of it. Also, love Maximilien Luce! Thanks for your work:)
Often when I come across a painting I enjoy - so many these days - the artist’s name goes into a notebook where I keep a running list of names. I then go to some reputable source to look up the body of their work and select from there.
I love the medical themes in this edition! Mending the Healers by Eberly is so astute and captures the experience of my closest friend as she currently undergoes medical school.
Thank you for the mention. I’ve never heard of that book before, and I’m glad to know of it. It’s definitely going on my to read list. And by the way, I absolutely love all of your lists Haley. I just found your bookshop book list and had some fun perusing all the books on it. Added a few to my Christmas list, which is pretty much a book list at this point lol.
Hannah Coulter was such a difficult and beautiful read for the very reason of being one of those college-educated children who never came home. Thanks for sharing the essay.
Wendell Berry is tough to read when you have no roots. These words of Christ always bring me comfort: "Whoever has left father or mother for my sake...will gain more in this life, and in the age to come."

Thanks for sharing Tessa's H&F piece, Haley! Another greaat thing to come out of the FPR conference. Glad you enjoyed it!
How and where are you finding all these beautiful paintings? I’m so enjoying the art alongside the articles.

Any interest in sharing said reputable sources (no pressure! I just have no experience researching art so it’s all new to me.)

My art major friend showed me this and it's amazing! It also lets you download PDF, so wonderful for things like picture study.
Ooh thanks! That’s awesome.
Thanks for the shoutout! Loved that thanksgiving piece
