Thanks for the podcast and Period Genius mentions! I wrote all the Guides for the latter, and we are really proud of the program as a whole. We’ve gotten some absolutely beautiful feedback on it. My favorite? A mom who said she feels transformed by how it’s made her think and talk positively about her own femininity for the first time in her life.
Thank you, Haley, for the share and the mention. What a fantastic Substack you have a beautiful resources and conversations. The painting of the marigolds was perfect to share, especially in context of loving the Theotokos, as they are traditional "Mary flowers" and found often in Marian gardens. Much beauty here. May you and all your readers be blessed this week. ❤️
Enjoyed the Plough piece on eternity! Some good ideas to ponder there: "Eternity does not await us in the future; it surrounds us" and "in eternity... our lives are no longer characterized by the ceaseless parade of moment after moment, and are instead a whole, held together by the eternal one."
Thank you for linking Harrington’s review to Freya India’s work. It enriched the read.
I reread these sentences in Harrington’s review a few times:
“[I]t is a good start simply to acknowledge that living means the inverse of mere narrow autonomy. And this inverse is discovered only when infinite possibilities are allowed to collapse into the specifics of responsibility, love, and commitment.”
So many in our generation are stuck in the infinite possibilities. (You’ve mentioned transience in your own life, and you are definitely not alone.) It does take great courage to let them collapse into specifics. I think of the difficulties we’ve faced and overcome, others we still face, in this area. It does give more courage to try to build a form for our children (and community, if God allows) in which they can simply live without all the existential anxiety of self-definition.
Loved the podcast format. I know it's probably more work, but I really appreciated the way that interview was done and then presented! Anyways, lots of beautiful things to ponder.
Thank you for the resources for girls!
It was a good question, and an important one!
ditto!!!
Also, this Catholic resource for teaching girls about their cycles! https://pearlandthistle.com/
Ahh yes, thank you — I have her book included in my compilation, but forgot she had courses!
That podcast on Mary is getting bookmarked, thank you Haley!
I liked how they went into the saints, specifically the female saints that exhibited all sorts of Christ-like virtues in their different lives.
Two courtyard housing pieces, be still my heart haha. Love it.
Just tryna hammer the point home. I cannot resist a good urban planning/family life crossover piece.

Had no idea about the marigolds! What a serendipitous thing to choose it for the cover art of this week's post.
*of beautiful resources ...

Eternity's time is a tricky concept for us mortals.

Thank you for the mention! Loved the Plough essay on eternity. I’ll be thinking about that one for a while.
I'm in awe of your research and writing abilities to draw us into art that is quite unknown to many, including me. :) Thanks for doing it.
Thank you so much for including our interview Haley ❤️❤️❤️
