You’re forming my intellectual life, Haley 😂 Your newsletter has become my post-college equivalent of a course reading list. Dunno what the course would be called exactly, but it feels like there’s a theme—maybe “How to Survive Modernity Spiritually Intact?”
hahaha, I am trying to form my own, girl. Glad you find some value in it! I finally realized this year after just kinda winging it with stuff I find interesting, that the newsletter is about human flourishing in a broad sense — with all the goodness, truth, and beauty that rigorously requires in the modern world. So I don't think you're far off, though I'm just now recently seeing it for myself. :')
Alan Noble's piece was a great read! You Are Not Your Own keeps popping up in random places, and I feel like I'm one mention away from getting a copy haha.
Oh, it's a good one. I listened to is on audio but it really deserves a physical re-read for the sake of underlining all the goodness he packs in there. I hate to say "paradigm-shifting" for many things, but this is one.
Earlier this year I purchased Hosanna Revival’s five year prayer journal. It’s wonderful quality and just a good practice to summarize my prayers for the day. I purchased it mostly because I believe God frequently answers many of my prayers after I forget I’ve prayed them - so I’m looking forward to revisiting them over the next few years to see how God moves in my life!
Tolstoy is so readable! I sometimes conflate "big, long novels" with automatically being difficult to get through, but he is not. It's one to re-read, for sure.

Thank you, Haley!
It was a great interview! I think I enjoy hearing you speak almost more than your writing, which is saying something. haha
Aw, thanks, Haley!

Thanks for including my piece on Spain! As aways, honored to be among so many great essays (many of which I would've missed without this!)
It was fascinating! And very hopeful that with the right attention to detail, we can be hospital to children and their families in ways big and small.
Oh, Anna Karenina is in my top 10 all-time favorites 💛 I'm probably due for a reread...
It's certainly deserving of one! I'm still a bit flummoxed by the ending, so I should seek out some help understanding it.

Yes, that was my first purchase from them a couple years ago!! It's a great idea for a journal.
Congratulations on finishing Anna Karenina!!
