What did you think of The Passenger?

I'm already not a big fan of novels that flash back and forth between plotlines that string together somehow. And a lot of crude & explicit dialogue that didn't really add anything. And overall had a hard time following all the pieces going on. I suppose I just wish it was like The Road haha

this review was at least a little helpful in appreciating it more though: https://freebeacon.com/culture/cormac-mccarthys-quest-for-answers-amid-the-chaos/

Thx for your take; It certainly resonates. I would've loved another "Road" but this was more like his earlier work (like Suttree & Child of God; very different aesthetic than The Road or No Country for Old Men). The Stella Maris sequel starts to bring some things together (from the POV of the therapy sessions of the sister), but that'a a big ask of the reader!

It’s always a joy to find someone who has strong overlapping reading lists! My goal this coming year is to mainly read books from my own shelves that I haven’t gotten to yet. Some on your list will be books I get to read!

Totally did not realize Hoopla had book titles that Libby/Overdrive didn’t. Will be checking out! Also, you’re the second to recommend Domestic Monastery so I’ll be looking for a copy.
